Common eSIM Problems and How to Fix Them

No signal, no data or an install that will not finish? Work through these quick fixes for the most common travel eSIM problems.

Most eSIM issues come down to a handful of settings. Try these fixes in order before contacting support.

The eSIM will not install

  • Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network and try again.
  • Make sure your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM.
  • Each QR code can usually be installed only once. If an install failed part-way, contact support instead of rescanning repeatedly.
  • Restart your phone and retry.

Installed, but no data

  1. Make sure the eSIM line is turned on in your cellular settings.
  2. Select the eSIM as your line for mobile data.
  3. Turn on data roaming for the eSIM line.
  4. Switch airplane mode on and off, or restart your phone.
  5. Check that your plan is still valid and has data remaining.

No signal or the wrong network

  • Open network selection and choose a supported network manually if automatic selection picks the wrong one.
  • Move to an area with better coverage. Basements and rural areas can be weak.
  • Check the access point name (APN) in your order details and enter it if your plan requires it.

Still stuck?

Contact support with your order number, your phone model and a screenshot of your cellular settings. This helps us diagnose the issue much faster.
