eSIM compatible devices
Most smartphones released in the last few years support eSIM. Use this guide to check your phone before you buy a plan.
Apple iPhone
- iPhone XR, XS and XS Max, and every newer iPhone model, including the iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 families.
- iPhone SE (2nd generation) and newer.
- iPads with cellular support also support eSIM on many recent models.
Some iPhones sold in mainland China do not support eSIM, and a few Hong Kong and Macau models use dual physical SIMs instead. Check your exact model.
Samsung Galaxy
- Galaxy S20 series and newer.
- Galaxy Note20 series.
- Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series.
Support can vary by region and carrier version, so confirm for the model you own.
Google Pixel
- Pixel 3 and newer, including the Pixel 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 families.
- Check regional variants of the earliest models, as support differed by country.
Other brands
Several other manufacturers offer eSIM on selected models, for example the Motorola Razr series, Oppo Find X5 series and Xiaomi 13 series. Because support depends on the model and region, always verify with the manufacturer.
Is my phone unlocked?
Your phone also needs to be network-unlocked. On iPhone, open Settings, General, About and look for Carrier Lock; it should read No SIM restrictions. On Android, check your SIM or network lock status or ask your carrier.
Not sure how to check? Follow our guide to checking whether your phone supports eSIM.
